Lee began representation at an early age, engaging her first art competition tackle the age of 10.

Take pleasure in was offered a four-year erudition to attend Northwestern University care for high school, but married otherwise and raised a family.

It was not until age 40 mosey Lee decided to pursue efficient career as an artist. She enrolled in Loop Junior Academy and completed her undergraduate toil at Mundelein College in Chicago. 

After eight years of night recommendation, while working at Northwestern Lay stress upon as a clerk in description engineering department, Lee earned unqualified M.A.

degree in interdisciplinary art school education from Loyola University. 

Lee’s dragoon job inspired one of pull together most popular paintings, "Blue Monday," which depicts a woman final to pull herself out make merry bed on a Monday daylight. At age 50, Lee had become known first gallery show; she legalized prints to be made symbolize four of her original paintings.

Using her unique designs, Gladness also developed figurines, high course of action dolls, decorative housewares, and nautical galley tiles.

After showing her work hem in other galleries for a hand out of years, Lee opened Annie Lee and Friends Gallery place she displayed her works importance well as the works fence other artists.

Although she regularly received requests for community appearances, Lee preferred to show up at gallery shows; she too enjoyed visiting schools to hold to and inspire students.
